North Carolina Hiking The
area known as the North
Carolina High Country basically encompasses six northwestern
North Carolina Mountain counties. For our own
purposes of focusing on the great
North Carolina Hiking
Trails, we have emphasized the areas
from near the North Carolina-Virginia border (milepost 217.5 on the
Blue Ridge Parkway) to Mount Pisgah, south of Asheville (mile-post
407.6 on the Blue Ridge Parkway). We have added a few hikes of
interest to people that have visited our main website. We
invite you to tell us about any hikes, walks, or trails that we
